DeafBlind Bay Area
Community organization supporting DeafBlind individuals through social events and advocacy
๐ About Us
DeafBlind Bay Area serves individuals who are DeafBlind or have combined vision and hearing loss in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We organize bi-monthly community potlucks, facilitate Support Service Provider (SSP) training and matching, and advocate for DeafBlind-inclusive policies at the local and state level. Our programs include tactile communication workshops, accessible technology demonstrations, group outings to parks and museums with SSP support, and a peer mentoring network connecting newly-identified DeafBlind adults with experienced community members. All events are conducted in tactile ASL, close-range signing, and pro-tactile methods.
